CI3 Standard 00-128-378

Customer interface boards (CI boards) are part of the ESC safety system.
The Electronic Safety Circuit (ESC) is a dual-channel, computer-aided safety system, that functions with a closed ring bus.
The ESC devices are nodes that are connected to each other via power supply and communication lines.
The connections for the individual nodes are located on this board, along with the fuses and various relays.
The board links the KPS inputs/outputs with the customer interface being used.
External safety signals for the robot can be connected to customer interface X11 (Harting connector).

Various different boards are used in the controller according to the specific customer requirements:

- CI3 Standard
With CI3 Standard, an external dual-channel EMERGENCY STOP can be connected. This signal is made available at connector X11 (see also Periphery connection / Basic components / ( System interface).

- CI3 Extended
With CI3 Extended, dual-channel monitoring of the DRIVES ON signal can also be carried out.
This is important if safety-relevant machines in the vicinity of the robot are monitored, e.g. a conveyor controlled via  the robot.
Furthermore, with CI3 Extended, single-channel AUTOMATIC and JOG MODE signals are made
available and can be tapped at connector X11.

- CI3 Tech
CI3 Tech makes the same signals available as CI3 Extended. This board is only used in conjunction
with RoboTeam and/or SafeTechnology.
